Who We Are 

The Coalition for Advanced Restorative Equity (CARE) was founded by a collective of passionate professionals born and raised in Los Angeles who share a deep commitment to equity, healing, and systemic transformation. United by a vision to enhance the quality of life for all Angelenos, CARE was created to ensure that restorative values are not just practiced, but lived across every level of our communities.

Our mission is to strengthen systems of care through connection, collaboration, and culturally responsive leadership. We believe that sustainable change emerges from within, which is why CARE focuses on building capacity across local institutions, community organizations, and public agencies. By fostering relationships rooted in trust and mutual respect, we support restorative approaches that honor the voices, identities, and experiences of those most impacted by inequities.

Grounded in community and guided by compassion, CARE works to transform how we support one another—in schools, workplaces, neighborhoods, and beyond. Inspired by the wisdom of the African proverb, “If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together,” we move forward together to create a more just, connected, and thriving Los Angeles.
