Raised in South Los Angeles—a community rich in resilience, love, and collective strength, yet deeply impacted by violence, loss, and systemic harm—her early experiences shaped a deep understanding of healing as something that does not occur in isolation, but through community, relationships, and culturally responsive support.Dr. Gomez has worked alongside youth, adults, families, first responders, educators, and professionals who carry the weight of trauma within complex systems. Her approach integrates restorative practices, lived experience, and evidence-informed psychological frameworks to support individuals and organizations in building sustainable, human-centered systems of care. Whether in community settings, clinics, courtrooms, or classrooms, her work remains grounded in restoring dignity and connection within systems.A Note on PurposeDr. Gomez’s professional path is inseparable from personal experience. The values that guide her work—care, prevention, and accountability—were shaped by early exposure to systemic gaps and the profound impact those gaps can have on individuals, families, and communities. These experiences continue to inform her commitment to strengthening systems of care, supporting those who serve on the front lines, and ensuring that healing-centered practices are accessible, culturally grounded, and sustainable. To learn more about the personal story that inspired this work and the vision behind the organization, visit Our History.
